Have you ever read Batman: The Killing Joke, by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland? It's absolutely amazing.
The idea of adapting this panel into a Homestuck context floated around in my mind for quite some time.
Today I finally found a reason to do it as a (tentative) contribution to the MSPA forum project for an extensive flash animation set to Rex Duodecim Angelus, a rather awesome piece of official music intended as the soundtrack for the trolls' climactic battle against the 12x prototyped Black King at the end of Hivebent.
I envisioned this fanart as the precise moment of Gamzee losing it for the very first time, resulting in a devastating attack on his part.
The facepaint smears and bloody scratches, distinctively post-Hivebent, were added specifically for its submission to DeviantArt.
